Kindergarten Update 9/20 - 9/24

 Greetings Kindergarten Families ,

We have had another fun week here in Room 17.  Here is a little peek at next week and some reminders for you.

In language arts we will continue to read books about following the rules at school, home, and in our world by taking a look at fiction, realistic fiction and nonfiction books and class write a comparison and contrast text. We learn about verbs and will look at how we use verbs in our writing. We will also complete our alphabet sounds/and letter writing. Please continue to practice identifying the names of the letters, both uppercase and lowercase and making the sounds with your child.

Sight words to start practicing at home are : I,  can, like, to, the, my. Our new sight words this week will be: we, go, see.

In math we will continue learning to write numbers, learn two dimensional shapes, as well as sorting and graphing.

We will continue with our Apple theme for the month and do a fun art project showing the different stages of the apple tree.

In our Mystery Science curriculum we learned about the biggest apple in the world and next week we will learn about the biggest tree in the world.

Reminders:

Labeling Items:  Please be sure to label all items that belong to your child so we can make sure they get back to the right person.
